Research: Language, metacognition, and theory of mind in nonhuman animals

Presentazione del progetto di ricerca in inglese: My research interests lie in language and cognitive abilities in non-human animals. The goal is to untie higher-order cognitive abilities from the need to have a unimodal language composed of hierarchically structured symbol systems to build a theoretical framework with which it is possible to attribute such abilities also to non-human animals. To do so, the research focuses on the multimodal analysis of language, according to a pragmatic-eto-ecological approach, to highlight hidden patterns in the communicative models of non-human animals.
