Thesis title: APPROCCIO MULTICRITERIO PER L’OTTIMIZZAZIONE DI PROCESSI PER LA COSTRUZIONE DI STRADE VERDI
This Ph.D. thesis explores the evolution of road pavement design in light of current traffic conditions, climate change and new high-performance bituminous materials. The main goal is to optimize green road construction processes through a multi-criteria approach that integrates advanced empirical-mechanistic methods to enhance the design and durability of road infrastructure. The research methodology includes heavy traffic analysis, experimental characterization of innovative bituminous mixes, and structural verifications using advanced models. The results highlight the need to update existing design criteria to achieve pavements that are more sustainable and long-lasting, capable of withstanding modern traffic loads and the challenges posed by climate change.
