Phd in PHD SCHOOL OF ARCHAEOLOGY

Research:

I am a medievalist specializing in funerary culture and archaeology. My research interests also include the medieval history of Rome and the history of the Papacy. I am currently a PhD student at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Germany) in a cotutelle with the Università degli Studi La Sapienza (Rome, Italy). The subject of my dissertation is funerary culture in late medieval Rome. I obtained the title of "Specialist of Archaeological Heritage" at the "Sapienza Università di Roma" (Rome, Italy) with a thesis on epigraphy and medieval antiquities entitled: "Sepolture di Prestigio a Roma nel Basso Medioevo. Il cavaliere di Santa Prassede" (grade 70/70 cum laude). In 2016, I obtained a Master's degree in "Archaeological Sciences and Historical-Archaeological Research Methodologies" with a thesis on medieval archaeology entitled: "La necropoli basso medievale del vicus ad Carinas" (grade 110/110 cum laude). In 2014 I obtained a Bachelor's degree in "History and Conservation of Artistic Heritage" with a thesis on the urban archaeology of Rome entitled: "Le vasche per lo spegnimento della calce nell'area del Foro della Pace" (grade 108/110). From 2013 to 2018 I took part in the excavation and research project at the Templum Pacis and the vicus ad Carinas, in the area of the Fori Imperiali and the Roman Forum in Rome. In the winter of 2018, I participated in the excavation campaign at the medieval site of Grange Castle in Dublin. In the summer of 2023, I participated in the excavation and research project of the Sapienza Università di Roma at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, Israel.
