Research: Nature-Based Solutions in Agriculture: Assessing Socio-economic Benefits
Livia Romani is a Ph.D. candidate in Development Economics at the Department of Social Sciences and Economics, Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation strategies, with a particular emphasis on assessing the socioeconomic co-benefits of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in agriculture. She is currently conducting a systematic literature review on this topic and developing two empirical studies based on secondary data.
She holds an M.Sc. in Development and International Cooperation from Sapienza University of Rome and a B.A. in Political Science, Cooperation and Development from Roma Tre University, both awarded with honors. Her academic path has a strong international dimension, including an Erasmus mobility period at the University of the Basque Country (Bilbao, Spain) and a visiting stay at BOKU University (Vienna, Austria).
Her work includes the article Reconsidering EU Pesticide Policy to Address Sustainability (published in Economia Agro-Alimentare/Food Economy) and a working paper on the socioeconomic co-benefits of NbS in agriculture. She actively participates in national and international conferences in development economics and contributes to the organization of academic events within the Ph.D. community.
She is also involved in teaching activities as a tutor for the course English Language 1 at the Department of Communication and Social Research (CoRiS), Sapienza University of Rome.
