Research: The transformation of the cores the Asian metropolis of Chongqing

Kuo Kang graduated as a master's student from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University in 2021 and is currently a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome. The title of his master's thesis is: "Research on the Spatial Form and Renewal Strategies of Mountainous Historical Towns Based on Morphological Typology". Kuo has published 4 papers in Chinese journals, 3 Chinese conference papers, 2 English book chapters, and 1 EI-indexed conference paper. He has also delivered oral presentations at two top international conferences (NPC2022 and IPHS2022) and participated in two vertical and two horizontal research projects. His current doctoral dissertation focuses on the influencing factors behind the urban morphological evolution of Chongqing’s central area over the past century. It also explores how the collage technique can reveal the "real space" and "imagined space" of Chongqing’s central area and the interrelationships between them.
