Thesis title: La realizzazione degli stati psicologici in alcune varietà dialettali italo-romanze: confronto tra costruzioni a verbo supporto e forme verbali sintetiche
This thesis investigates the expression of psychological states in some italo-romance dialectal varieties, with particular attention to the comparison between the usage of light verb constructions and synthetic verbs. Although widely studied in various languages worldwide, these constructions remain largely unexplored in Italian dialects. The study provides first-hand data, collected through a questionnaire administered in six survey points, covering different dialect areas (two in the northern area, two in the central area and two in the upper southern area), and aims to shed light on the [V (+ det) + N] combinations used in the dialectal varieties under investigation. The main objectives are to identify potential trends and preferences in the usage of light verb constructions compared to synthetic verbs for expressing different aspectual meanings, and to analyze the synthetic and analytic patterns of the individual varieties. The results show that the production of light verb constructions does not depend solely on the semantic properties of their two constituent elements, the noun and the verb, but also on the tendency towards analyticity or syntheticity of the individual varieties in the realization of complex predicates.
