Research: THE LANGUAGE OF RUSSIAN MOLOKANS IN AZERBAIJAN: THE IMPACT OF HISTORY AND RELIGION

Kamala Rahimova has graduated from the Department of Philology and Foreign Languages of the Slavic University of Baku (Azerbaijan) with a thesis focusing on neologisms in the Russian language at the end of the 20th century. Subsequently she has obtained her master's degree at the Linguistics department of the same university with a work entitled “Proverbs and proverbial sayings built on the model of complex sentences” with honors. In 2016 she completed the Italian language and culture course of the University for Foreigners of Perugia. She has worked for various economic and cultural magazines in Azerbaijan as well as in Georgia; moreover, she has organized several educational fairs in Baku. Kamala Rahimova is currently a Ph.D. student in the double degree program of “German and Slavic Studies” (Curriculum of Slavic Studies) at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic) and Sapienza University (Rome, Italy). Her doctoral research is focused on the linguistic and cultural characteristics of the Russian Molocans – representatives of spiritual Christianity in the Russian Empire, that had been departed to remote areas of the state.
