Jlenia Toppi received her M.Sc. Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 2009 and her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Bologna Alma Mater Studiorum in 2013. She is associate professor at the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome since 2022. In the framework of a bilateral agreement between her Department and IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia, she spends part of her research activity in the latter institution, specialized in Neurorehabilitation. She participated in several national and international research projects, funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, italian ministry of health, 7th Framework Program and Horizon 2020 of the European Commission. She is Editor of the Computation and Mathematical Methods in Medicine and Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. She serves as reviewer for several peer-review journals.
Dr. Toppi’s research interests include the development and implementation of new approaches for high resolution EEG signal processing, with a special focus on brain mapping and brain connectivity in healthy and pathological (stroke, multiple sclerosis, disorders of consciousness) individuals. Her expertise is in the field of signal processing, mathematical modeling of biological systems, EEG, neuroelectrical imaging, connectivity estimation, hyperscanning, statistical assessment and graph theory. She authored 81 papers, with 2053 citations and a total Impact Factor of 98,32 and her H-index is 21 (Source: Scopus, date: June, 2023).
