Titolo della tesi: Sex differences in the dissociation between social and non-social attention

Several studies have shown that socially and non-socially relevant stimuli such as eye-gaze and arrows trigger reflexive attentional shifts into the signalled location. However, recently, qualitative differences have been observed between the attentional responses triggered by these two types of stimuli of such a distinct nature, favoring the idea that eye-gaze, in addition to just directing attention may trigger a unique attentional process, which may be qualitatively different from the process triggered by a non-biologically relevant stimuli such as arrows. The present work, aimed to investigate the existing experimental approaches that have succeed in dissociating social from non-social attention. Then, by running several experimental series, we tried to investigate whether this dissociation can be found only in females or whether it can be extended to the male population.
