Jacopo Tirillò was born in 1982. He received the Laurea degree in Aeronautical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 2007 and 2012, respectively.
Since September 2013 he is assistant professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering Materials Environment of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Research interests are centered on composite materials and related sctucture-property relation in particular my expertiese deal with:
• low and high velocity impact response of composite materials for structural applications;
• durability of composite material based on thermoplastic and thermoset matrices;
• dynamic behaviour of composite laminates and sandwivh structures;
• use of plant fibres in biopolymers (biodegradable or from renewable resources) for designing biocomposites with reduced environmental impact;
• combination of natural fibres (mineral and vegetal) in hybrid composites for sisigning sustainable composites for semi-structural applications;
• valorization of agro-industrial wastes as filler in thermoplastic matrices;
• ablative materials for thermal protection systems and propulsion devices.
