Ileana Amadei, East Asia Curriculum, 37th cycle
RESEARCH PROJECT'S ABSTRACT:
Chinese Toponyms Database (CTD), created by professor Almonte, is a useful tool to trace the evolution of Chinese geographical and ethnographical knowledge about foreign territories over the centuries. The principal purpose of the ORACLEx project is to implement and optimize the database, collecting data from Song, Yuan and Ming sources. Moreover, by creating an open research environment, researchers from different fields of study could share knowledge and information, contributing to the growth of CDT.
