Research:
Ilaria Sanetti was born in Rome in 1986.
She earned an Art History Bachelor’s Degree in 2016 at Sapienza University. She presented the thesis ‘I crocifissi di Michelangelo’, a dissertation about the theme of the crucifix in Michelangelo’s production. The study was carried out through the analysis of the sculptures, of the drawings and of the discussed pictorial derivations.
During his studies for the master’s degree, she attended an internship as a cultural mediator in the exhibition ‘Da io a noi, la città senza confini’ (Rome, Palazzo del Quirinale 24 October - 17 December 2017), edited by Anna Mattirolo, conceived and promoted by the General Direction of Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Suburbs, General Director Federica Galloni. In 2018 she collaborated in a project of cataloguing the photographic images of the Adolfo Venturi's archive and in the editing of some of the cards that have been merged into the catalogue of the
exhibition ‘The photo library of Adolfo Venturi at Sapienza’ (Rome, University City, Laboratory Museum Contemporary Art MLAC, 22 November - 20 December 2018) edited by Ilaria Schiaffini e Maria Onori.
In 2019 she took a Master's degree in Art History at Sapienza University, with the thesis ‘L’immaginario della caccia nella Libraria nuova e nelle collezioni di Francesco Maria II della Rovere’, mentor Prof. Massimo Moretti, assistant supervisors Dr. Daniela Fugaro, Prof. Paola
Castellucci, graduation grade 110/110 with honors. The study analyses the iconographic heritage
related to the hunting images in the volumes of the ducal library of Casteldurante through the
comparison with the sources and collections of the last Duke of Urbino.
In 2019 she achieved a three-year-full-time postgraduate PhD position, with fellowship for attaining the degree of ‘Dottore di Ricerca’ in Art history, with a project - Immaginare i saperi nella Libraria nuova di Francesco Maria II della Rovere - dedicated to the imagery of the Duke of Urbino, on the basis of the systematic study of the images contained in the volumes of his Book.
