Hana Chrastova obtained her master's degree in 2009 in the philological fields of Czech and German Studies at Charles University in Prague. She completed her five-year studies discussing a thesis entitled "Rahel Levin Varnhagen – die bedeutende Frauengestalt der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts in Berlin" under the leadership of prof. Milan Tvrdik. During her studies, she completed a two-semester internship at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. She is currently working on the dissertation project "Nationalitätenkonflikt in (pseudo)historischen Romanen" under the supervision of Dr. Václav Smyčka and Prof. Gabriele Guerra. The aim of the project is to analyze the forms and strategies of identity creation through historical novels in the Czech lands in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
