I was born in Rome where I obtained my Master’s of Science in Pharmacy. I obtained my PhD in “Pharmaceutical Sciences” under the supervision of José Carlos Menéndez and Pilar López-Alvarado. I had the experience of working abroad, such as in France during my PhD with Jean Rodriguez and, as a postdoc, in the UCL with James Anderson, in Chile with Ricardo Tapia and in the US with A. Zakarian. I got the permanent position in 2015 at the UCM, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Sciences. My research interests dealt with the total synthesis of organic compounds of marine origin with relevant pharmacological activities and the study and application of domino and multicomponent reactions in Organic Synthesis. My ongoing research deals with the design and synthesis of multi-target drugs presenting radical scavenger properties. I have published research papers in international journals and I have participated in more than thirty national and international symposia with posters and oral communications. My interests in teaching deal with the use of TICs in Higher Education and social inclusion.
Research Interest: Medicinal Chemistry, Drug discovery, Organic Synthesis, Heterocyclic Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Domino Reactions.
