Gianluca Dell’Acqua is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School of the Federico II University of Napoli, Italy. Dr. Dell’Acqua qualified as Full Professor in 2015. He is panel member in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program “Improved Prediction Models for Crash Types and Crash Severity” (D1762), member of the TRB “Low-Volume Roads” Committee (AFB30), member of the TRB committee for the 11th International Conference on Low-Volume Roads (AFB99D), Research Center Director of the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering, Associate Editor of the International Journal for Traffic and Transport Engineering, and President of the Scientific Committee of International Conference for Traffic and Transport Engineering. He was Vice-Chair of the European Committee of the “International Conference on Sustainable Design and Construction”, American Society of Civil Engineering ASCE (Kansas City, Mo March 2011). Dr. Dell’Acqua teaches courses in highways, railways and airports engineering; he has advised more 50 graduate students including 5 Ph.D.’s. Dr. Dell’Acqua is the author/co-author of more than 100 refereed journal/conference publications and technical reports. Dr. Dell’Acqua was awarded for the best paper (ex-aequo) in the 10th International Conference on Low-Volume Roads (Orlando, Florida 2011).
