The principal aim of my PhD research is the improvement of fluids paleo-circulation models known in literature with an innovative approach, focused to assess the stratigraphic-lithological control on fluid flow. For this research, the proposed area are the Val d’Agri fault systems (south Apennines, Italy) where present-day fluid circulation is not well constrained, and several socio-economic problems are still unsolved due to hydrocarbon extractions. Through field work, meso- and micro-structural analysis, and geochemical analysis over mineralizations sampled along tectonic structures, I will build a regional model of paleo-circulation of fluids along the extensional
Val d'Agri fault systems, focusing to the relationship between paleo-fluids and seismic events.
