Graduated in literature at La Sapienza, University of Rome in 1982. Teacher of "Italian, history and civic education, geography in middle school" since 1984. In the eighties and nineties I collaborated with the working groups of international surveys IEA-Written Composition , IEA-Reading Literacy Study and IEA-Civic Education.
Between 1990 and 2000, I collaborated with Sapienza University of Rome, Roma Tre University, the Ministry of Education and the InValSI. I participated in national research and training initiatives: Re.Di.S. , Multi-year Update Plan for the training of teacher teachers for the primary school (Linguistic education), Definition of linguistic competences standards in the two-year period of upper secondary school, Identification of indicators for the detection of pupils' skills at the exit of low secondary school, Information sheet for the low secondary degree exams, Project Copernico.
Between 2000 and 2015 I collaborated on the international OECD-PISA survey. PhD in Experimental Pedagogy (XVIII cycle). Associate Professor in Experimental Pedagogy at Sapienza since 2005.
