Giacomo Di Santo is a PhD student with a scholarship in the XXXIX cycle at the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at Sapienza - University of Rome.

In July 2020 he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a grade of 109/110 and in October 2023 he obtained his Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a grade of 110/110 specialising in Geotechnical Engineering. His master's thesis entitled 'Micro-inspired constitutive modelling of clays: A thermodynamic approach' was supervised by Prof. Angelo Amorosi.

Giacomo Di Santo's main research interests concern the interaction between tunnels, soil and masonry buildings in urban areas. Since October 2023 he has taken part in the PRIN project 'Damage Analysis and Monitoring of Ancient structures interacting with Geotechnical Excavations (DAMAGE)' in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the University of Oxford.
