Research: Decarbonization through electrification of large non-residential civil users: development of simulation models of aggregates of active and passive users for the access to the electricity market.

Francesco Castellani (Soriano nel Cimino VT, 1988) is a PhD student in Engineering and applied science for energy and industry at the Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering of “Sapienza University of Rome”.

He is currently involved in the planning and development of decarbonisation processes for large non-residential civil users in Italy and abroad (ESA, Bank of Italy, National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, etc.) as Head of the Civil and Buildings by Studio Santi, directed by prof. Federico Santi; he collaborates with Prof. Maria Carmen Falvo in research activities in the field of energy efficiency and electricity markets, in particular in relation to the studies carried out by the DIAEE for ESA (European Space Agency).

Graduated in Building Engineering in 2012, he obtained the title of EGE (Esperto in Gestione dell'Energia, Expert in Energy Management) according to UNI 11339 and Internal Auditor of Energy Management Systems compliant with ISO 50001.
