Feng-Chuan PAN is currently a professor at Department of East Asian Studies, National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan. She received the PhD degree from Leiden University (the Netherlands) in 2006. Her academic interest is in the sino-western intercultural encounter between Christianity and China, mainly mediated by the early Jesuits and protestant missionaries in 17th -19th Centuries. In recent years, her research is focused on Western translations of Chinese classics, esp. Xiaojing (Book of Filial Piety) and Daodejing (Book of Laozi), as well as the Western interpretations on Chinese culture in early Modern Europe.
