Titolo della tesi: Official Statistics and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): statistical tools for handling complexity and comparability across countries

The intent underlying this Thesis is to discuss statistical models and techniques for addressing complexity and comparability in official statistics and for monitoring progresses towards specific Targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The work deals with Graphical Models and their potentialities in addressing the structural complexity of systems of indicators in official statistics; Linear Causal Models given by a specific class of graphs that allow for the presence of feedback loops among variables; and Item Response Theory and Test Equating techniques employed to tackle the issue of comparability when measuring the access dimension of Food Insecurity.
