Research: Characterization of microplastics in indoor environments: Development and validation of an integrated multi-analytical protocol

Federica Bianchi (born on 20 September 2000) obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (L-27) in 2022 from Sapienza University of Rome, with a review thesis entitled “Dissolution of Amosite fibers at physiological pH”, graduating with a final grade of 105/110.
In 2024, at the same university, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry (LM-54) with an experimental thesis entitled “Determination and characterization of plastic additives and microplastics in an artisanal sailmaking laboratory”, graduating with a final grade of 110/110 and honors.
In November 2024, she was awarded a research fellowship within the BRIC research program “Characterization of airborne microplastics and nanoplastics emissions in workplaces” (CELLOPHAN) at the National Research Council – Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (CNR-ISMN).
Since November 2025, she has been a PhD student in Electrical Engineering, Materials and Nanotechnology at Sapienza University of Rome, carried out at the National Research Council – Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (CNR-ISMN).
