The main lines of research concern the host-parasite relationship both in protozoan infections such as toxoplasmosis and in helminthic infections with particular regard to trichinellosis. To study these problems, serological (ELISA and western blot), immunohistochemical and molecular techniques are used both for proteins (for example matrix metalloproteases using gel zymography) and nucleic acids (PCR and RT-PCR).
