Fabio Balducci (Rome, 1981) architect, PhD, graduated in Rome in 2009 with 110/110 cum laude in the EU Master of Architecture degree program. He obtained his license to practice the following year. He is a member of the Order of Architects Planners Landscapers Conservators of Rome and province section A since March 2011.
In 2012 he is the creator, together with Orazio Carpenzano, of the website ArchiDiAP, an open-access encyclopedia of materials on architecture, and since then he has been collaborating in various ways with the Department of Architecture and Design of Sapienza University of Rome, also taking part as an organizer in the cultural and editorial activities and research projects carried out within the Department, with particular reference to the relationship between theory, design and contexts and the role of architecture in the contemporary world.
In 2014, he won a PhD fellowship in Architecture. Theories and Design, and in the following three years he carried out thesis research that flowed into the volume "Angelo Di Castro. Tra le Pieghe del Moderno" recently published by Quodlibet.
In 2019 he obtained a Level II University Master's Degree in Design of Buildings for Worship, with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, with a thesis on an interfaith center in the University City of Rome.
The following year he obtained the title of Subject Tutor SSD 08/D1 - ICAR/14 with validity for the academic three-year period 2020/2021 - 2022/2023.
Since 2013 he has participated in Faculty teaching as a co-advisor in the Thesis Laboratories conducted by Orazio Carpenzano and, since the following year, as an assistant in his Synthesis Course in Architectural and Urban Design. Since 2020 he has been among the leaders of the Seminar Critical Reading of a Work of the Doctoral School in Architectural Sciences.
Since 2001, he associates his research activity with an intense and fruitful design activity through assignments and competitions, receiving awards and mentions.
Since 2017 he is, with Paolo Marcoaldi, owner of the studio dismisura, through which he has the opportunity to explore the dimension of the project at different scales and to open a close confrontation between theory and practice in architecture.
The studio's recent works include numerous participations in design competitions and the realization of the Federico Fellini Museum in Rimini, opened in August 2021.
Since 2022, he has been a member of the faculty of the Doctoral Program in Architecture and Construction at Sapienza University of Rome.
