Enrico Grazzi teaches Language and Translation - English. He is Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Roma Tre. He obtained the national scientific qualification as full professor, in April 2021. He studied Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He graduated with honors in 1986, with an experimental thesis in Methodology of English Language Education (supervisor: Prof. Wanda d’Addio Colosimo; co-supervisor, Prof. Paola Giunchi). In the following years he taught English in the Italian secondary school. At the same time, he began his academic career as a lecturer in Glottodidactics, at the University of Cassino, where he later became a permanent researcher in Language and Translation - English. After moving to the University of Roma Tre, he first taught English for Communication Sciences (Bachelor’s and Master's degree courses), and then taught: a) Language and Translation - English, in the Bachelor’s degree course in Languages and Literatures for Intercultural Communication; b) English as an international language: methodological and didactic issues, in the Master's Degree Course in Languages and Literatures for Teaching and Translation.
He is currently a Professor of Language and Translation – English in the PhD programme in Studies in English Literatures, Language, and Translation, at the University of Rome “Sapienza”, Coordinated by Prof. Donatella Montini. Joint International Doctorate, in partnership with the University of Silesia, in Katowice. He has carried out research and has published mainly in the following areas: English as a lingua franca (ELF); Educational Linguistics; Sociocultural Theory and second language development; Telecollaboration. He has given talks in several national and international conferences. For his research in the field of Telecollaboration, he was awarded the European Language Label Award for Innovative Projects in Language Teaching and Learning 2012-2013 (Agenzia Nazionale Lifelong Learning Programme Italia Comenius, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Visite di Studio).
