Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the Department of 'History, Cultural Heritage, Education and Society' at the university of Rome Tor Vergata' Enrico Acciai is a historian working on modern history whose main areas of research and interest are: the political and social history of the Mediterranean Europe in modern times, and global history. Acciai has worked, among other things, on the history of anarchism, the history of European antifascism, the history of modern Spain, and the history of transnational war volunteering.
