Domenico Siclari (1974) is Full Professor of Economic and Financial Markets Law, since 2013, at Rome Sapienza University.
He is a lawyer and he had previously worked as officer at Bank of Italy in Rome (1999-2003), in the field of banking and financial supervision, focusing on payment system oversight.
At the same time, he has attended several meetings for study and research with colleagues from other National Central Banks on issues of payment system oversight and regulation at the European Central Bank, in Frankfurt am Main.
He was later a Counselor of the Italian Parliament-Chamber of Deputies (2003-2013), where he has been in charge of the Finance Division of Research Department since 2004.
His main work and research areas are banking and financial regulation and supervision, business law, economic public law, regulation models.
In 2006 he had a research experience at the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches öffentliches Recht und Völkerrecht in Heidelberg.
In 2007 he obtained a Ph.D. in “Economic Public Law” at Rome Sapienza University. He teached also as professor of International Financial Institutions and as deputy professor of Economic Public Law at University “L.U.I.S.S. Guido Carli” in Rome, Faculty of Economics.
He is author of several books and articles in banking and financial regulation areas, business law and economic public law.
He is member of Scientific Committee of “Sustainable Finance and Market Regulation Project” at London School of Economics and Political Science.
Since March 2011 he is member of Referees Committee of “Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto dell’Economia”.
Since July 2012 he is member of Advisory Board of “Law and Economics Yearly Review”.
