Thesis title: Some remarks about language and conscious and unconscious thought

The following dissertation is divided into two parts. The first part reports on the published results of the work carried out during the doctoral years with the research group of the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory in Udine. These are three papers mainly dealing with the relationship between conscious and unconscious thoughts and their verbalization. In each of the studies, the outcome of subjects who have completed a path of MOM meditation is compared with that of naive subjects. Specifically, it examines the mind-wandering phenomenon, the presence of elements of dissociated thinking in healthy subjects, and the measurement of stress and pain in a group of female teachers during Covid 19 distress. The second part of the work consists instead of two studies of a theoretical nature that examine the problem of consciousness, language and their relationship to the definition of the human mind. These studies are situated between philosophy and neuroscience and suggest a number of possible developments for comparison between the two disciplines.
