Phd in STUDIES IN ENGLISH LITERATURES, LANGUAGE AND
TRANSLATION

Cristiana Brunetti is a PhD student at La Sapienza University of Rome in the department of Studi Europei, Americani e Interculturali; and an English Language high-school Teacher for MIUR. She first graduated at La Sapienza (4 years Graduate Degree) discussing a thesis on Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos while as part of her MA she has completed a thesis titled "Da una sponda all'altra tradurre The Bridge di Hart Crane. In 2014 she obtained her Qualification Teaching Status. Her doctoral project focuses on a critical approach to the translation of the "Complete Poems and Selected Letters and Prose of Harold Hart Crane". She has worked for several language schools in Rome as an ELT teacher and as a consultant, in the preparation of students for Cambridge and Trinity examinations, and for IELTS and TOEFL tests, and as a center coordinator and in the organization of examination sessions for the Trinity Examination Board. She has been an invigilator and supervisor for INVALSI tests, a Member of the Examination Board for State Exams and a Supervisor for State Examination Sessions. She has collaborated as an expert trainer for PON EUROPEAN STRUCTURAL FUNDS 2014-2020 Projects, and in 2018 she has organized an Intercultural Mediation Project:" LCCR Ponte fra Culture" in collaboration with the Romanian Language Institute, the Romanian Ministry of Education and MIUR. She is a member of AISNA and in 2020 she obtained a special mention for her MA thesis. In 2021 sha was selected for Lancaster Summer School in Corpus Linguistics. She usually spends part of the year in England. Her main fields of interest include ELT, 20th century American literature, translation studies, corpus stylistics and corpus linguistics. She has been working as a translator for many years.
