Research: Multifunctional Surface Coatings Using Doped Nano-Ceria and Innovative Functionalized Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles: Applications in Pollution Control, Corrosion Resistance, and Drug Delivery
Charles Cassidy (2000) graduated from his bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Classics from the College of the Holy Cross, MA, USA in 2023. He completed a thesis in collaboration with Harvard Arts Museum based on the removal of iron and manganese stains from mock-up terracotta surfaces using varying chelators. Following this, he participated in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program, Archaeological Materials Science (ARCHMAT), where he obtained his master's degree. The final thesis was about photocatalytic systems as anti-pollution surface protectives for historical surfaces.
