Carmelo Russo is Associate Professor in Cultural Anthropology at the SARAS Department of Sapienza University of Rome.
He is a member of the Doctorate of National Interest in Peace Studies, in which he coordinates, with Maria Chiara Giorda, the curriculum 2 Identities, Memories, Religions and Peace, and of the Doctorate in History and Cultures of Europe, where he coordinates the socio-anthropological-historical-religious area.
He is vice-president of the Master's Degree Programme in Fashion and Costume Sciences (L-3).
His study interests and current research concern Italian presences and Marian cults in Tunisia, relations between migrations, religions and urban spaces, religious minorities and contemporary spirituality in Italy.
