Research: Characterization of different synthetic and natural surfactants for applications in the remediation of contaminated aquifers using SEAR (Surfactant Enhanced Aquifer Remediation) technology

Berardino Barbati was born in Avezzano (AQ) on 20/12/1995. In October 2018, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry with a vote of 110/110, discussing a thesis entitled "Comparative Evaluation of the Fermentability of Poly-Hydroxyalkanoates (PHA) from different sources for environmental applications" under the supervision of Prof. Marco Petrangeli Papini. On 21 October 2021 he earned a master's degree in Industrial Chemistry (ARES curriculum) with a vote of 110/110 cum laude defending a thesis entitled "Synthetic and natural surfactants for applications in the remediation of contaminated aquifers: characterization and process study for the technological implementation" always under the supervision of Prof. Marco Petrangeli Papini.
Since November 2021 he holds a doctoral scholarship in "Chemical Processes for Industry and the Environment" at the Chemistry Department of "La Sapienza" University in Rome. The research area relates to the study and characterization of surfactants and formulations from different sources to evaluate their applicability in environmental remediation processes.
