Research Activities
Main research interests are focused on the following topics, achieved mainly through the generation and characterization of murine models and the use of Cytometry and Molecular/Cellular Biology Technics:
1) Notch in T cell differentiation and in the development of ‘T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia’ (T-ALL).
2) Notch in the generation and function of regulatory T cells and in the pathogenesis of experimental autoimmune diabetes.
3) Notch in in the crosstalk between leukemia cells and tumor microenvironment, with particular attention on the tumor cell-dependent induction of subsets with immunoregolatory functions, such as Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells (MDSC).
