Research: From archaeological data to social structure: communities, economies, and cultures in the italian Copper Age

I am a PhD student in Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology at Sapienza University of Rome, where I graduated with honors in both Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology (Master’s Degree) and Archaeological Sciences (Bachelor’s Degree). My thesis research focused on funerary practices, social organization, and territorial patterns in central-southern Tyrrhenian Italy between the 4th and 3rd millennium BC.

Over the past few years, I have participated in numerous archaeological missions, both in Italy and abroad. Since 2022, I have been collaborating with the Italian Archaeological Mission in Malta, focusing on the study of ceramic materials from the prehistoric and protohistoric phases of the Tas-Silġ site. I have also taken part in excavation and survey campaigns, working on significant contexts such as the Bronze Age settlement at Coppa Nevigata (FG), the Neolithic site of Grotta Battifratta (RI), the Protohistoric settlement of Cannatello (AG), and Monte Croce-Guardia (AN). Additionally, I have contributed to the activities of the Alta Murgia Archaeological Project.

Furthermore, I have shared the results of my research at international conferences, including the 30th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), and published scientific articles in international journals such as EXARC Journal ("How were Half-Moons on Shells Made in the Upper Palaeolithic? An Experimental Approach", 2023) and Origini ("Has violence always existed? A review on cannibalism and interpersonal violence between the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods", 2023).
