Research:

Angela Mincuzzi is currently a PhD student in ancient history at the University of Rome La Sapienza (18th cycle), with a project entitled “The Prefecture of the Annona in the first three centuries of the empire. An update fifty years after Pavis d'Escurac.” The research aims to update H. Pavis d'Escurac's 1976 work "La Préfecture de l'annone: Service administratif et impérial d'Auguste à Constantin," in light of the latest epigraphic, papyrological, and archaeological findings, new major works on the equestrian order, and recent studies on the professional associations involved in supplying the city. Starting from a review of the sources, the aim is to draw up updated prosopographic lists and a general synthesis of the data, redefining the imperial office of the annona from a historical, chronological, and structural point of view.

In 2021, he graduated with honors with a master's degree in Archaeology from the University of Rome La Sapienza, discussing a thesis in Latin epigraphy entitled “The procurators of the annona from Augustus to Constantine.” He actively participates in numerous excavation campaigns, followed by the study of ceramic and numismatic materials. Since 2019, she has been collaborating on the digitization of epigraphic material from Rome and Ostia as part of the “EDR - Epigraphic Database Roma” project. Since the same year, she has been a member of the research group for the study and cataloging of E. Gorga's epigraphic collection as part of an agreement between the Department of Ancient Sciences and the National Roman Museum. In 2022, she won a collaboration grant for teaching and research as part of the European project “Valete Vos Viatores: Travelling through Latin inscriptions across the Roman Empire,” for which she is working on the study and digitization of some wall inscriptions in Rome and the creation of a digital epigraphic museum.
