Dr. Andrea Giacomo Marrani was born in Rome on 10/03/1981, he obtained his Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry “cum laude” end of 2004, and received his PhD diploma in Materials Science in 2007 at “Sapienza” University of Rome with the thesis “Preparation and characterization of electroactive hybrids from molecular monolayers covalently attached to Si(100)”. Afterwards, he gained a post-doc position in the same institution. By the end of 2008 he spent two years at the G. Natta Research Centre held by the LyondellBasell company in Ferrara (Italy), as a researcher on structure-property relationships in polyolefinic materials. In the years 2010-2019 he has been researcher in General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of “Sapienza” University of Rome, while now he is Associate Professor in the same field and institution. During his scientific growth he spent short periods abroad attending international schools and courses. In 2005 he won the Amel Prize for the best thesis in electrochemistry. He organizes and performs experiments at the Elettra Synchrotron Lab in Trieste, Italy. He is referee for several journals edited by the American Chemical Society, Elsevier and Wiley. In the past he taught "General and Inorganic Chemistry" at the Earth Sciences Department, while now he teaches "Inorganic Chemistry I" and "II" at the Department of Chemistry. He is coauthor of 40 publications on peer-reviewed international journals. He participated to granted national interest research projects and exposed his scientific achievements via oral communications at international conferences.
