EDUCATION
Amedeo De Dominicis (born in Sulmona, 1957) graduated at the University of Roma “La Sapienza” in 1980 and completed his training with scholarships at the University of Paris 7 - E.H.E.S.S. (1983-85), where he got a D.E.A. (Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies) in Linguistics.
PhD in Linguistics at the University of Pisa (1989).
ADMINISTRATIVE AND ACADEMIC DUTIES
Founder and director of “Laboratorio di Fonetica” at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo) since 2004.
Member of the “Nucleo di Valutazione” at the University of Tuscia (2000-2003).
Member of promotion committees for various Italian universities (one selection for “ricercatore”, two for “associate professor”). Consulted expert in several selection procedures of PRIN grants (MIUR).

Researcher at the Department of Semiotics of the American College of Rome (University of Charleston) (1981-82). Lecturer (former art. 100d DPR 382/80) in Glottologia at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo). Linguistic consultant in a research team of the Acoustics Institute (CNR) of Rome for a project on the digital synthesis of Italian language (1988). Assistant professor in Linguistics at the University of Bologna (1993-1999). Temporary professor in Glottologia at the University of Cassino (1998-99 e 1999-2000). Associate professor at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo) since 1999 (General Linguistics). Full professor therein since 2006 (General Linguistics).
Visiting professor (for periods ranging from 1 to 3 months) at: Paris VII-Diderot (1991), Université de Provence, Aix-Marseille I (1994).
Director of 3 PhD thesis at the graduate School in “Linguistica storica e storia linguistica italiana” (University “La Sapienza” of Rome) since 2000 (see below) and external supervisor in Ph.D. theses both in Italy (Rome 1 and 3) and abroad (Paris Sorbonne).
Lectures and plenary talks at national and international institutions, among which (the list is incomplete): Aix-en-Provence (1994), Bologna (1986, 1998), Roma (SIG 2009), Trento (1994), Parigi (2001).
RESEARCH ACTIVIY

Group leader in the participation of the Laboratorio di Fonetica of the University of Tuscia (Viterbo) in a project, called “Calliope, le ‘soffitte’ della voce”, and funded by the CARIVIT (2004), in order to recover ancient recordings of dialects in the area of Bomarzo (VT).
Local coordinator within the national projects “VOX” (Sociofonetica e tecnologia della voce: analisi sincronica e diacronica di sistemi vocalici e intonativi d'Italia), 2011.
