Thesis title: Visual Music: Interrelation of Visual Components and Sound
ABSTRACT
The present research investigates visual components to explore the interrelation between image and sound in Visual Music. Distinctive techniques and aesthetic intentions are addressed to realise how Visual Music practitioners utilise visual elements to achieve consonance of visual objects. For fulfilling this, the study begins with a comprehensive investigation of Visual Music's evolution throughout the years, spanning from principal theories of colour and music in classical antiquity to contemporary Visual Music practice. Following that, multiple definitions of Visual Music are surveyed, and how the related terms had their origin is summarised.
The idea of the utilisation of Visual Music in diverse aspects of abstract art would be presented. Since technology development in Visual Music enhances is apparent, its contribution to nowadays videos and live audio-visual shows is deeply deliberated. Furthermore, the impact of technology and theories behind the most well-known innovators in Visual Music are highlighted. This is followed by an investigation of the constituent components of visuals to realise how they are created.
