Research: Risk analysis and resilience models for road tunnels
Alessio De Angelis obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (L-9) from Sapienza University of Rome on October 11, 2023, with a thesis entitled “Waste disposal: comparison between combustion and gasification processes.”
He obtained a Master’s degree in Safety and Civil Protection Engineering (LM-26) from Sapienza University of Rome on October 16, 2025, graduating with full marks and honors (110/110 cum laude), with a thesis entitled “Geostatistical modeling of the spatial distribution of wildfires for territorial resilience: application to the case study of the island of Ischia.”
He was admitted to the Excellence Program in Safety and Civil Protection Engineering for the 2024/2025 academic year, following the final ranking approved by the Degree Program Council.
He is currently a PhD student in Infrastructure and Transport at Sapienza University of Rome, conducting research on risk analysis and resilience models for road tunnels.
His research interests include infrastructure safety, territorial resilience, and risk management in complex systems.
