Research: Trevignano Romano between Caere, Veio, and Falerii: A Contribution to the Knowledge of Inland Southern Etruria

My research project focuses on the analysis of the settlement of Trevignano Romano, located in the Lake Bracciano area, from the Iron Age to full Romanization, through the study of the archaeological record from both the settlement and its necropoleis.
Within the framework of the scholarship awarded by the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Etruschi e Italici and the Avvio alla Ricerca – Type 2 project at Sapienza University of Rome, I was able to expand my research to the Sabine site of Foglia (RI), situated in an area of intense cultural interaction between the Sabine and Faliscan regions.
My thesis for the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici (Sapienza University of Rome) also focused on the site of Foglia and is entitled “Foglia (RI) and the Tiber Valley: A ‘Frontier Centre’ in Sabina.”
During both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Sapienza University of Rome, I studied the pre-Roman centre of Otricoli. My theses, “Otricoli in the Pre-Roman Period” (defended on 23 September 2020) and “Otricoli in the Pre-Roman Period: From the Late Nineteenth-Century Excavations to New Discoveries” (defended on 21 July 2022), enabled me to reconstruct and analyse the available unpublished data on a key case study for understanding the various interactions between the two banks of the Tiber during the first millennium BC.
Throughout my academic training, I have taken part in several excavation campaigns and subsequent phases of material analysis, including at the sites of Pyrgi (RM), Veio (RM), and Civita Castellana (VT).
