Thesis title: Innovazione nella fruizione e nella gestione di GIS 3D in ambito archeologico: il caso di Cencelle
The integration of 3D technologies in archaeological practice has revolutionized the recording and interpretation of excavation data, enabling a more dynamic and sustainable approach. This study, focused on the medieval site of Cencelle, aims to develop a digital consultation system that integrates paper documentation with three-dimensional representation, leveraging the 3D interface of GIS. By analyzing the relationship between traditional stratigraphic documentation and digital models, the research experiments with an innovative method for recording, reconstructing, and managing data.
Through experiments conducted both in the field and in the laboratory, involving the digitization and 3D modeling of archaeological data, this work proposes a new system for recording and accessing archaeological information. The adopted approach not only enhances the understanding of archaeological heritage but also contributes to the sustainability of research by reducing the environmental impact of documentation and promoting a more efficient management of information.
