Paola Degani, is a lecturer of Women's Human Rights in the Master's Degree in Human Rights and Multi-Level Governance and Public Policy and Human Rights in the three-year degree in Political Science, International Relations, Human Rights at the Department of Legal Political Science and International Studies, University of Padua.
He has been conducting research activities at the University Center for Human Rights at the same University for many years.
She has taught Gender Approach to the Internationalization of Human Rights in the European Master's Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA) and since 2014 has been a member of the Board of the Doctoral School in Human Rights, Society, and Multi-level Governance, University of Padua - University Center for Human Rights.
Always committed to the issues of the condition of women from a feminist perspective and women's human rights, from 2008 until the conclusion of this organizational experience in 2019 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Interdepartmental Center for Research and Gender Studies (CIRSG) of the University of Padua and since 2013 a member representing the teaching staff of the University Equal Opportunities Commission. She has been a member of the University Forum for Gender Policies and Studies as well as for a brief period of the Elena Cornaro University Center.
She is currently a member of the Regional Coordination Table for the prevention of and the fight against violence against women of the Veneto Region, was a Member of the Expert Group Database on Violence against Women of the Department of Equal Opportunities - Presidency of the Council of Ministers as well as a member of the Technical Table of the Interministerial Commission for the support of victims of trafficking, violence and severe exploitation at the same body.
From 2015 to 2021 she was the University representative to the Veneto Region at the Peace and Human Rights Committee.
She was appointed representative to the G20 for the W20 (Women 20), Italian Civil Society Section, a position divested in 2019.
For years she was part of the Executive of the Veneto Women's Projects Center - Anti-Violence Center of Padua (and Province) with which she continues to collaborate today.
For the Council of Europe, she was appointed as part of the GREVIO national expert during the monitoring visit carried out in Italy under Article 68 of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.
Scientific advisor of the N.A.Ve Project, Anti-Trafficking Network for the Veneto Region (now renamed Navigare) as well as contact person first for the City of Venice and then for the Veneto Region for the management of the National Anti-Trafficking Helpline
