Mario Pianta is a Professor of Economic Policy at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences in Florence. He is a past president of the Italian Economic Association and co-editor of the journal Structural Change and Economic Dynamics. His research focuses on international economic policies, technology, inequalities, and issues related to peace and war. The most recent book he edited is Se l’Europa va alla guerra. Politica, economia e tecnologia della corsa al riarmo (Feltrinelli, 2026; the English version is published by Routledge).
