Graduated in Landscape Architecture from the Higher Institute of Agronomy at the Technical University of Lisbon, where he has been teaching since 1992. He obtained a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Founder, Coordinator, and International Director of the PROAP studio, he is responsible for the strategic, executive, and tactical management of three international studios: Lisbon (Portugal), Treviso (Italy), and Tirana (Albania). He coordinates the design, conceptual, and creative activities and defines the strategy for investigative processes. His professional and teaching activities intertwine and enrich each other, contributing to the development of new lines of research and experimentation. A Visiting Professor at various international universities (Harvard, GSD, UPenn, OSU, AHO, Pamplona, Versailles among others), he has been a Full Professor at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture since 2016 and is a member of various scientific committees. In 2013, he was awarded the 1st Adalberto Libera Chair of Excellence. In 2010, he published the monograph "PROAP – Arquitectura Paisagista" (Note), summarizing the first 25 years of the studio, and in 2011, he co-authored "Lost Competitions" (Proap Editions). Proap's projects have received various national and international awards and have been multiple finalists for the "Rosa Barba" Prize at the Barcelona Landscape Biennial.
