She graduated in Law from the University of Macerata. From November 1992 to October 2001 she was a researcher in Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavia - Department of Criminal Law and Procedure "Cesare Beccaria". She is currently a full professor of criminal law at the University of Insubria, where she also teaches restorative justice and criminal mediation and international criminal law and transitional justice. She is the Director of the Center for Studies on Restorative Justice and Mediation (CeSGReM), established in December 2014 at the University of Insubria. Her research areas include: sanctioning systems, corruption, restorative justice, language and law.
