Giuseppe Giordano (Palermo, 1981) is researcher of Ethnomusicology at the Department of History, Humanities and Society of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He obtained his Ph.D in Music and Performing Arts (curriculum History and Analysis of Music Cultures) at the University of Rome Sapienza. His research focuses mainly on the social aspects and functions of traditional musics, especially in relations to popular devotion. Recently He has also worked on the relationship between ethomusicology and virtual fieldwork. He has carried out field research in Italy, in Greece and in Tunisia. He published essays, articles and books on the subject of his studies topics.
