Obiettivi formativi del dottorato
Educational goals and objectives

descrizione:	La Scuola di Dottorato in ARCHEOLOGIA, con la sua articolazione in 6 curricula relativi ai differenti ambiti cronologici o tematici della disciplina, corrisponde al più alto e completo livello di formazione post-laurea e rappresenta l'unico dottorato totalmente dedicato all'Archeologia nel panorama universitario nazionale. Grazie a questa articolazione gli obiettivi formativi della Scuola riflettono i diversi curricula. ARCHEOLOGIA CLASSICA Il curriculum intende preparare alla ricerca scientifica i giovani studiosi interessati al patrimonio artistico e architettonico, alle produzioni artigianali e alla cultura materiale, ai contesti insediativi e alla storia del paesaggio nelle aree in cui si sono sviluppate le culture greche, ellenistiche e romane tra Età del ferro e Tarda antichità. Particolare attenzione è riservata ai metodi della ricerca e a un approccio critico. ARCHEOLOGIA E ANTICHITA' POST-CLASSICHE La sezione di Archeologia e Antichità Post-Classiche intende formare ricercatori specializzati nel settore disciplinare dell'archeologia tardoantica, cristiana e medievale. Obiettivo formativo è la preparazione allo studio degli eventi storici, dei fenomeni socioculturali, delle dinamiche urbane e territoriali e delle produzioni tra III e XV sec. attraverso i metodi dell’archeologia. ARCHEOLOGIA ORIENTALE Il curriculum persegue un’approfondita conoscenza specialistica delle culture preclassiche del Vicino Oriente e del Mediterraneo, dalla formazione della civiltà urbana all’avvento dell’Ellenismo attraverso lo studio diacronico e comparativo delle testimonianze archeologiche. L’ambito è quello delle discipline Archeologia e Storia dell’Arte del Vicino Oriente antico e Archeologia fenicio-punica. ARCHEOLOGIA PREISTORICA Finalità del corso è la preparazione di giovani studiosi alla ricerca nel campo della preistoria e protostoria attraverso la realizzazione di uno studio originale su alcuni dei molteplici aspetti dei temi centrali del settore disciplinare, quali, ad esempio: l'evoluzione umana, l'origine dell'allevamento e dell'agricoltura, la nascita della diseguaglianza, l’urbanizzazione. ETRUSCOLOGIA Il curriculum ha come oggetto gli studi nell'ambito dell'etruscologia e dell’archeologia dell'Italia preromana tra X e II-I sec. a.C. Nell’ottica della disciplina, così come concepita dal suo “fondatore” M. Pallottino, l’approccio alle ricerche è a tutto campo, dalla cultura materiale alla storia politica e delle istituzioni, dall’epigrafia agli studi di carattere topografico e urbanistico, alle produzioni artigianali. TOPOGRAFIA ANTICA Il curriculum ha come obiettivo l’analisi dei contesti monumentali, urbani e territoriali mediante l’integrazione di metodologie tradizionali e tecnologia avanzata. In quest’area di approfondimento lo studio delle fonti storiche e documentarie, la ricognizione, l'esame del monumento, l'analisi geo-morfologica sono strumenti di base costantemente aggiornati nell’ottica della transizione digitale.

description:	The PhD School in ARCHAEOLOGY, with its articulation into 6 curricula relating to the different chronological or thematic fields of the discipline, represents the highest and most comprehensive level of post-graduate training and is the only doctorate totally dedicated to Archaeology in the national university system. There are different aims depending on different curricula. CLASSICAL ARCHAEOLOGY The curriculum aims to prepare young scholars interested in artistic and architectural heritage, productions and material culture, settlement contexts and landscape history in the areas in which Greek, Hellenistic and Roman cultures developed between the Iron Age and Late Antiquity. Particular attention is paid to research methods and a critical approach. ARCHAEOLOGY AND POST-CLASSICAL ANTIQUITIES The PhD course in Archaeology and Post-Classical Antiquities is intended to train specialist researchers in the disciplinary sectors of Late Antique, Christian and Medieval Archaeology. Main training goal is to prepare doctoral students to the application of archaeological methods to historical events, social phenomena, urban and territorial dynamics and material productions between the third and fifteenth centuries AD. ORIENTAL ARCHAEOLOGY Curriculum Orientale pursues an in-depth specialist knowledge of the pre-classical cultures of the Near East and the Mediterranean, from the formation of the urban civilization to the advent of Hellenism through the diachronic and comparative study of archaeological evidence. That is the scope of the disciplines Archaeology and History of Art of the Ancient Near East and Phoenician Punic Archaeology. PREHISTORIC ARCHAEOLOGY The course aims to provide PhD candidates with methodological and theoretical research skills related to pre- and protohistoric contexts. This will be done by tutoring them in carrying out an original study related to one of the topics of the discipline, as human evolution, origin of herding and agriculture, origin of inequality or urbanization. ETRUSCOLOGY The curriculum focuses on studies in the field of Etruscology and archaeology of pre-Roman Italy between the 10th and 2nd-1st centuries BC. From the perspective of the discipline, as conceived by its 'founder' M. Pallottino, the approach to research is all-embracing, from material culture to the history of politics and institutions, from epigraphy to topographical and urban studies and craft production. ANCIENT TOPOGRAPHY The curriculum aims the analysis of monumental, urban and territorial contexts through the integration of traditional and high-tech methodologies. In this area of insight, the basic tools of the historical and documentary sources, territorial survey, monument analysis, geo-morphological study are constantly updated considering the digital transition.
