Educational goals and objectives

descrizione:	Il Dottorato si articola sul trattamento di specifiche aree tematiche, le quali verrano riportate di seguito con relativa descrizione. Le attività volgeranno allo studio delle aree che interessano il contesto cardiovascolare e toracico. Inoltre, si potrà far conoscere e quindi consentire l’acquisizione di importanti nozioni interessate ai campi di ultrasonografia e radiodiagnostica avanzata. Dapprima si andranno ad affrontale tematiche come l’anatomia e la fisiologia cardiovascolare con relative patologie vascolari, cardiache e toraciche ad esso associate. Lo studio della diagnostica non invasiva ed invasiva, le nozioni di terapia medica e le metodiche avanzate nel campo della terapia chirurgica. A seguire, si tratteranno ed analizzeranno i meccanismi neuro effettori vegetativi nell’ambito cardiovascolare, l’identificazione, la locazione ed il ruolo biologico degli inibitori di proteasi indirizzate a livello del sistema nervoso e cardiovascolare. Successivamente verrà dato spazio allo studio dei sistemi recettoriali dopaminergici e colinergici interessati nel sistema cardiovascolare, con relative azioni degli inibitori di proteasi plasmatici e tissutali coinvolti nel medesimo sistema. Altrettanta importanza sarà elargita per la valutazione della vitalità miocardica e della transmuralità della necrosi che si presenta dopo la manifestazione dell’infarto miocardico, attraverso l’utilizzo di tecniche poliparametriche, la valutazione del miocardio stunned ed ibernato. Verranno affrontate, inoltre, anche tematiche riguardanti le micobatteriosi polmonari ed extra-polmonari, i recettori delle neurotrofine nelle arterie polmonari e nel fluido di lavaggio bronchiolo-alveolare nelle sarcoidosi, l’uso aerosolico dell'alfa interferone nelle tubercolosi polmonari e nella bronchite cronica; ed infine l’etiopatogenesi delle istiocitosi polmonari ed extrapolmonari. Le esperienze maturate durante il corso dei tre anni, avranno lo scopo di portare i dottorandi ad orientarsi in maniera autonoma e professionale nei seguenti ambiti: 1-Valutazione delle protesi e delle endoprotesi vascolari (nuove tecnologie) 2-Valutazione della fisiopatologia cardiaca e relativa diagnostica (nuove tecnologie e strategie terapeutiche) 3-Valutazione della fisiopatologia pneumologica e della sua diagnostica 4-Procedure diagnostiche e terapeutiche inerenti alla chirurgia toracica 5-Trapianto polmonare 6-Studio delle fistole artero-venose polmonari 7-Studio degli shunt artero-venosi cardio-circolatori 8-Applicazioni della scintigrafia nella diagnosi delle patologie del sistema cardiocircolatorio e vascolare sistemico e polmonare 9-Applicazione della tomografia computerizzata (TC) e della Risonanza magnetica (RM) nella diagnosi delle varie patologie cardiovascolari e toraciche

PhD:	ANGIO-CARDIO-THORACIC PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND IMAGING
description:	The PhD has been designed and structured to allow the achievement of noteworthy objectives such as the introduction, insertion, and final development of research in the clinical setting. This involves the investigation first, and then the analysis, of fields that affect the cardiovascular and thoracic context. Furthermore, it will be possible to make known and allow the acquisition of important notions interesting in the fields of ultrasonography and advanced radiodiagnostics. Therefore, below are the specific contents incorporated in the different areas of interest. First, topics such as cardiovascular anatomy and physiology will be addressed with related vascular, cardiac, and thoracic pathologies associated with it. The study of non-invasive and invasive diagnostics, the notions of medical therapy, and advanced methods in the field of surgical therapy. Furthermore, the vegetative neuroeffector mechanisms in the cardiovascular field, the identification, the location, and the biological role of protease inhibitors directed at the level of the nervous and cardiovascular systems will be treated and analysed. Subsequently, space will be given to the study of the dopaminergic and cholinergic receptor systems involved in the cardiovascular system, with the relative actions of the plasma and tissue protease inhibitors involved in the same system. Equal importance will be given to the evaluation of myocardial vitality and the transmurality of the necrosis that occurs after the manifestation of myocardial infarction, using poly parametric techniques, and the evaluation of the stunned and hibernated myocardium. Furthermore, issues concerning pulmonary and extra-pulmonary mycobacteriosis, neurotrophin receptors in the pulmonary arteries and in the bronchioloalveolar lavage fluid in sarcoidosis, the aerosol use of alpha interferon in pulmonary tuberculosis and chronic bronchitis will also be addressed; and finally, the etiopathogenesis of pulmonary and extrapulmonary histiocytosis. The experiences gained during the three-year period will aim to lead the PhD students to orient themselves independently and professionally in the following areas: 1-Evaluation of vascular prostheses and endoprostheses (new technologies) 2-Evaluation of cardiac physiopathology and related diagnostics (new technologies and therapeutic strategies) 3-Evaluation of pulmonary physiopathology and its diagnostics 4- Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to thoracic surgery 5-Transplant of lungs 6-Study of pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas 7-Study of cardiocirculatory arteriovenous shunts 8-Applications of scintigraphy in the diagnosis of pathologies of the cardiovascular and systemic vascular and pulmonary systems 9-Application of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of various cardiovascular and thoracic pathologies
